Highlights Of Hilo CITY TOUR
Your journey through historic Hilo town and its surrounding lush, tropical points of interest will give you a lasting memory of an authentic Hawaiian coastal area. Our knowledgeable tour guide will take you along banyan tree drive where you can glimpse the majestic banyan trees dedicated to famous people such as President Franklin Roosevelt, Babe Ruth and Amelia Earhart.
Queen Liliuokalani Gardens is the next stop, here you will enjoy the beautiful 30 acre Japanese Edo style park that was dedicated by the queen to the migrant sugar cane workers. You will find lovely pagodas, koi ponds and ancient style stone bridges. Take a walk along the foot bridge that gives you access to Coconut Island that held sacred ceremonies in ancient times. Rainbow Falls is the next stop on the itinerary, this 80 foot waterfall is surrounded by lush rainforest landscape and is known for the rainbows that form in the mist.
A quick stop is next for pictures of the King Kamehameha Statue then to satisfy everyone's sweet tooth we head to Big Island Candies. We can't forget the chance to see our local Honu, green sea turtles lounge at Richardson Black Sand Beach.
Our final stop will be old Hilo town board walk to enjoy shopping, the historic buildings, and the famous Hilo Farmer's Market.
